When children receive an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, it can be overwhelming for families, and with one in 68 children being diagnosed each year, it’s critical parents understand the importance of early intervention. Studies show early intervention can significantly improve children’s development and help them reach their full potential.

HOW MUCH THERAPY WILL MY CHILD NEED?
An overwhelming number of studies have shown that ABA is effective in teaching new skills and reducing problem behavior. However, how much ABA is needed to influence behavior to a significant and measurable degree? There is no definite answer to that question, as all autism cases are unique. However, research clearly supports early and intensive intervention.
In 2001, the National Research Council Report recommended a minimum of 25 hours per week. In 2007, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended 20 hours or more of active engagement in evidence-based interventions. These are the minimum number of hours based on research for young children.
Our clients saw a 96% overall aggregate skills improvement across all categories tested after 6 months of intervention.
